About Us

How I Care (HIC) is a Singapore-based company founded in 2020.
The organisation consists of compassionate individuals who desire to improve the well-being and upbringing of children in Asia and beyond.
Why We Do This:
Mental health issues are major public health challenges, particularly in low- and middle-income countries in Southeast Asia, where chronic shortages in mental health services and a lack of discussion on well-being prevail. Studies indicate that mental disorders typically onset between the ages of 12 and 25, highlighting the importance of this period for improving well-being in childhood. Poor self-esteem can also impact the physical health and development of youths, affecting their academic and vocational achievements, as well as their social relationships.
How I Care aims to address this at a systemic level by implementing well-being and self-care programmes in schools, designed to increase students’ self-confidence and interpersonal skills within a community-based setting.
Recognising that every child is unique, How I Care believes that all children are precious and have the potential to succeed in life. How I Care maintains that resilient children will grow into resilient adults who will contribute positively to society.

How I Care My Journal
The How I Care My Journal has been developed to help children identify their strengths and weaknesses, understand their self-worth, and set SMART goals. This journal is a complementary teaching resource that enables teachers and organisations working with children to enhance their understanding of a child’s well-being, upbringing, and living environment. The content of each journal is tailored to meet the unique needs of each school year level, equipping students with relevant strategies and confidence to make a positive impact. The How I Care My Journal is currently used in schools across Asia, with the potential for further expansion into other countries.
HIC offers a child well-being training programme and workshops to schools and organisations.
